As it extends invitations to new food service vendors for school meals, DCPS is also seeking parent feedback about school meals.
That feedback will inform what a new vendor may provide for school meals. Given the recent legal settlement regarding the prior vendor’s practices (rotten food, late or missing deliveries, etc.), parent feedback now is potentially very important.
The DCPS survey is due by September 30, the same day that the DC council will holding a hearing on food services in schools. To testify in person or to provide written testimony, email Jessica Giles (jgiles@dccouncil.us) or call the council’s education committee (202-724-8061). (NB: There is now also a tantalizing possibility of testifying remotely! Mention any interest in that to Ms. Giles when you contact her.)
