The wondrous world of mayoral control of schools (well, DCPS, anyway) has led our mayor to declare that she is not going to do anything regarding selecting a new chancellor of DCPS until after the primary next week (June 19, to be precise).

To ensure that this time–unlike the last three times–our city follows the law in the selection of the next DCPS chancellor, please sign this petition started by the WTU, demanding that our city and our mayor follow the law.

(In the meantime, maybe the council can decide not to hold a hearing for any nominee unless the mayor follows the law–you know, that whole democracy and rule of law thing.)
