Starting on February 13 and continuing into April, the education committee of the DC city council is holding a series of performance oversight and budget hearings for education agencies in DC.
Note: As currently scheduled, the budget oversight hearings for DCPS, the charter board, and the deputy mayor for education fall in the last week of March, which is spring break for DCPS and some charter schools. If you wish to sign a letter to ask that David Grosso, the committee chair, change the dates of those hearings, contact the Coalition for DC Public Schools at c4dcpublicschools@gmail.com and indicate whether you represent a school organization or are a parent, staff member, etc.
In the meantime, below (and on the calendar!) is the currently posted schedule, with sign-ups at the links below. All hearings are in our city hall, the John Wilson Building, at 1350 Pennsylvania Ave. NW:

February 15: State board of education, office of the ombudsman, office of student advocate, bullying prevention task force
February 21: DCPS (public witnesses only)
February 27: Office of the state superintendent of education
March 1: DCPS (government witnesses)
